Project Description

The Knickerbocker | Spokane Apartments

The Knickerbocker is a historic apartment building, listed on the register of historic places. Originally, the building provided full service living including a ground floor restaurant, live in service quarters, a billiards room and a beautiful central courtyard. While these amenities have disappeared over the years, the idea of bringing back a mix of uses that serve residents and the nearby neighborhood, hospitals and Lewis and Clark High School serves as inspiration for the rehabilitation work now underway.

After a long period of deterioration, the building has seen significant renovations over the past decade, but almost half of the units remain unfinished. We envision restoring the units historic character while modernizing some elements of the unit layout, updating common furnishings and pursuing the reintroduction of a small retail cafe to serve the residents and nearby community as the building once did.

One and two bedrooms available in this historic neighborhood.
